Volunteer

HappiDog always welcomes dog lovers in the community to get involved and help show their support. Read more below on how to help!

Foster Program

Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to volunteer. Foster families open their heart and home to dogs in need, and the reward is priceless. We often see dirty, timid, and sometimes abused dogs blossom into happy and excited dogs ready for their fresh start! It’s always a bit sad to see our rescue dogs go, but HappiDog and their partners work diligently to find fitting and loving homes. Many of our dogs are transported to Pittsburgh where their adopters are waiting for them!

Becoming a HappiDog Foster

HappiDog provides our fosters with everything they need including food, beds, crates, puppy pads, toys, treats, and more. Most foster commitments are between 3-5 weeks. Fostering saves lives and is crucial to rescuing and rehoming our dogs. Complete an Adoption/Foster Application if you’re interested in opening your home to a rescue dog!

Foster-to-Adopt

Fostering-to-adopt is a great way to see if a dog is right for you before committing to adoption. It can be used as an opportunity for you to determine whether you feel ready to make the commitment to adopt a new family member.

Submit an Adoption/Foster Application if you’re interested in our Foster-to-Adopt Program.

Transport Volunteers

HappiDog has a monthly transport from Memphis to Pittsburgh to our sister rescue, A Little Bit of Snuggles, where adopters are waiting and already approved to take home their new family member. Sometimes our transports have close to 50 dogs! We would love your help on our transport days.

Volunteering may include holding puppies, walking dogs before they are loaded onto the van, stacking and organizing crates, checking paper work, cleaning out crates, and giving those last minute belly scratches before our HappiDogs take off on their journey. If you’re interested in becoming a transport volunteer, submit a “Get In Touch” form here.
